Hurricane Debby Relief

When Hurricane Debby struck Florida, Rebuilding Together demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the affected communities through a series of coordinated relief efforts spanning three different cities over three separate days.

In the aftermath of the devastating storm, Rebuilding Together mobilized quickly to provide crucial support to residents across multiple affected areas. The organization's primary initiative was the distribution of Hurricane Relief Kits, an effort that was strategically executed in three distinct locations to maximize its reach and impact.

Over the course of three days, volunteers and partners gathered in each of the chosen cities to distribute these essential kits. Each event became a beacon of hope for local residents struggling in the wake of the disaster. The kits contained vital supplies to help people cope with the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, providing much-needed relief to hundreds of families.

Rebuilding Together's efforts extended beyond just kit distribution. Recognizing the urgent need to protect homes from further damage, the organization coordinated with local subcontractors to provide emergency roof tarping services to homeowners, free of charge. This quick action helped prevent additional water damage to many homes across the affected cities, potentially saving residents from costly repairs down the line.

These events were a testament to the strength of community partnerships. We were profoundly grateful for the support of our dedicated partners, including Josie Tamayo, CEO of Volunteer Florida, Representative James Buchanan of District 74, ToolBank USA Disaster Services, and the New College of Florida Women's Soccer Team. Their hands-on involvement was invaluable in making the relief efforts a success across all three locations.

Special recognition went to Volunteer Florida, Florida Division of Emergency Management, OneGenAway, P&G, ToolBank USA, and The Salvation Army Tampa Bay. Their generous donations of time, resources, and supplies were crucial in assembling and distributing the Hurricane Relief Kits in each city.

This multi-day, multi-city collaborative effort in the face of Hurricane Debby's destruction illuminated the path to recovery for many Florida residents. It proved that when communities stand united, they can overcome even the most daunting challenges. The resilience of these cities shone brightly over those three days, reinforced by the compassion and dedication of every volunteer, partner, and organization involved.

Rebuilding Together's swift and comprehensive response to Hurricane Debby - from distributing relief kits across three cities to arranging free roof tarping - exemplified the organization's mission to rebuild homes and hope in times of crisis. Their actions not only provided immediate relief but also laid the groundwork for long-term recovery, embodying the true spirit of community service and solidarity on a regional scale.
