Rebuilding Day 2010 Summary

Rebuilding Day 2010 was an unforgettable event for many residents in the City of ST. Petersburg and the City of Tampa. Over 500 volunteers made a difference in the lives twelve (12) homeowners and their families, contributing to make their homes safer, healthier and more energy efficient. Nine (9) of those homes were completed in the Bartlett Park neighborhood in St. Petersburg. This event gathered residents at the end of the day to celebrate the beginning of a neighborhood revitalization that was due for long time. The City of St. Petersburg Mayor, Bill Foster and City Council member, Karl Nurse, alone with several City Departments provided much needed services, resources and logistics to accommodate hundreds of volunteers, other non-profits offering their services and coordinate media coverage throughout the neighborhood and day.
