National Rebuilding Day is the annual signature event of Rebuilding Together, the leading national nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership by bringing volunteers and communities together to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners.
Held on Saturday April 24, National Rebuilding Day is the day when we celebrate our organization’s mission and to bring attention to the plight of America’s low-income homeowners and the communities in which they live. National Rebuilding Day is the culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and mobilizing community volunteers. It is embraced by our community leaders and national and local corporate sponsors as a way of bringing immediate impact to America’s communities in a single day.
On National Rebuilding Day RTTB volunteers join affiliates nationawide to repair and restore houses and non-profit facilities, revitalizing entire communities and making a lasting impression on the families who are served. For many volunteers, it leaves them with the experiences of helping their neighbors in need, which brings them back year after year.
Over the years, National Rebuilding Day has created the momentum from which Rebuilding Together has grown to the stature it enjoys today as a leading organization in the quest to preserve affordable housing for low-income Americans.
Our goal for this year’s National Rebuild Day is to complete 15 projects in the Tampa Bay area. Homes in throughout the City of Tampa and City of St. Petersburg will become safer, healthier and more energy efficient with the support of several corporations and by engaging over 400 volunteers.

Reger Home
Bill Reger has lived in his home for 37 years. He is a retired Body Shop Manager on disability. When a tree fell on his back porch he did not have the ability or income to repair his home. To his relief, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay was suggested due to a safety code noncompliance.
