  • Webb Home

    7921 Endive Ave, Tampa, Florida
Brenda Webb is a veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged in 1978. She was an Executive Chef and Liaison Officer at Ft. Sill, OK. She was disabled in a car accident on October 1, 1991 and goes to James Haley V.A. Hospital in Tampa for medical needs. On July 16, 2008, her young grandson accidentally burned her house down. Red Cross housed them for three days, then with community support and her disability from social security they stayed in a hotel for 6 months until Tampa Park Apartments gave them a residence. Prior to the house burning, she was very active in the community and the county. She was appointed Community Specialist of Hillsborough County in 1998, implementing programs and ideas for the senior citizens and youth. Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is working closely with First Florida and FOX 13 Care Force, along with many Gifts in Kind donations to rehabilitate and fully furnish Brenda Webb's home.
  • National Rebuild Day 2011

    Progress Village, Tampa
National Rebuilding Day is the annual signature event of Rebuilding Together, the leading national nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership by bringing volunteers and communities together to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners. Held on Saturday May 7th, National Rebuilding Day is the day when we celebrate our organization’s mission and to bring attention to the plight of America’s low-income homeowners and the communities in which they live. National Rebuilding Day is the culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and mobilizing community volunteers. It is embraced by our community leaders and national and local corporate sponsors as a way of bringing immediate impact to America’s communities in a single day. On National Rebuilding Day RTTB volunteers join affiliates nationawide to repair and restore houses and non-profit facilities, revitalizing entire communities and making a lasting impression on the families who are served. For many volunteers, it leaves them with the experiences of helping their neighbors in need, which brings them back year after year. Over the years, National Rebuilding Day has created the momentum from which Rebuilding Together has grown to the stature it enjoys today as a leading organization in the quest to preserve affordable housing for low-income Americans. Our goal for this year’s National Rebuild Day is to complete 15 projects in the Tampa Bay area. Homes in Progress Village will become safer, healthier and more energy efficient with the support of several corporations and by engaging over 500 volunteers.
