West Tampa Homeowners Get New Tires from Bridgestone

[West Tampa, February 25, 2009] – Super Bowl came and went, yet one West Tampa neighborhood is still feeling its effects and will continue doing so for generations to come.

On January 30, over 1,000 volunteers from more than fifty corporations and organizations made needed repairs to 20 homes in a Historic Old West Tampa neighborhood for Rebuilding Together’s Kickoff to Rebuild, an NFL sanctioned event for the recent Super Bowl.

Despite economic downturn companies and volunteers came together to contribute to the revitalization of this historic community. Repairs ranged from exterior landscaping and painting to extensive roofing, plumbing, electrical, structural repairs including the complete demolition and rebuild of a new home. Homes were made more energy efficient including the installation of several new windows and new appliances. All repairs were at no cost to the homeowners.

Homeowners Continue Reaping Benefits

As a continuing gesture of the generosity of project sponsors, Bridgestone recently announced the donation of a new set of tires to each of the 20 project households. On Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., Bridgestone & TiresPlus representatives will present several households with a certificate good for a new set of tires. Representatives of the media are invited to attend this special presentation to be held at 2316 Pine Street, West Tampa, Florida 33607.
