Building a Healthier Sulphur Springs In-Progress

In order to create more Affordable Housing opportunities and preserve housing stock in Sulphur Springs, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay has worked relentlessly, repairing homes of low income residents to make them safer, healthier and more energy efficient. RTTB has conducted neighborhood beatifications with other partners who share our mission: to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners in Tampa Bay. There are also Living Healthier in My Home workshops available for the homeowners to inform them about what they can do to maintain their home for years to come and make changes that can prevent the need for more constant repairs. To fill out an application click here. You can submit either by fax (813-513-3068), mail (Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, 911 E 122nd Ave. Tampa Fl 33612) or you can drop it off in person.

Part of the BAHSS program is the replacement of mailboxes for homeowners and tenants through RTTB’s partnership with the local nonprofit organization Community Stepping Stones. This has become an important aspect of this project, not only for the look it gives to unify the neighborhood but also for the safety aspect of providing homes with new, legible house numbers on their mailbox an important point for emergency services.

Buckets Gardens are provided through RTTB’s partnership with

the YMCA. These offer residents an opportunity to grow some of their

own vegetables using these portable gardens to provide a healthier

option to their diets.
