On December 19, 2009, employees from the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage (WFHM) volunteered at the home of Lunay Flores-Johnson in Sulphur Springs. Lunay bought her house ten years ago, hoping that her parents would live with her and help her achieve the American dream. A few months later, her father died leaving her with the enormous responsibility of home ownership and taking care for her ill mother.

Soon afterwards, she started a new chapter in her life when she married and had two beautiful children. However, the dream soon ended when she had no other choice than separate from her husband and deal on a daily basis with her daughter’s disabilities, her mother's progressive cancer, and her four-year-old son’s speech impediments. The house is in dire need of repairs, her kitchen is not functional at all, furniture and boxes of unused clothes have invaded every space available, and the children are only allowed to play in a small space that Lunay knows is safe. Making her house livable again will make a huge impact in her life. It will help her see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it will give her children an opportunity to live safer and grow healthier.

Financial Support from the Wells Fargo Home Housing Foundation allowed RTTB to renovate the kitchen, living room, dining room, and one bathroom.
