Be A Sponsor

Thank you for choosing Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay as an organization worthy of your generous contribution.   RTTB depends upon donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations to provide free home repair services to low-income homeowners in the Tampa Bay area. Your contribution ensures that RTTB will continue to carry out the many programs needed to preserve and revitalize houses and communities in the Tampa Bay Area, assuring that low-income homeowners live in warmth, safety, and independence. Your donation to the Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is tax deductible.

Leveraging Your Financial Contribution
We know that you want your donation to go far and you want it to make a difference.  That's why we do our best to leverage your support to make a greater impact in the community. When you give to RTTB, we utilize your financial contribution to identify and secure in-kind donations of supplies, materials and, skilled trade labor. These resources combined with unskilled volunteer hours are leveraged to deliver a larger and more significant service. Below is a real life example of how a $25,000 contribution from CHASE Foundation was effectively leveraged to fund a $58,000 project.

A grant from the foundation allowed us to identify, repair and rehab three homes in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood. Once the scope of work is developed by one of our partners, it allowed us to identify the supplies and skilled labor needed to complete the projects. The staff reached out to present and potential partners to requested donation of materials, discounts and special pricing for services and supplies. They will be provided with an In-Kind Donation form to state the actual value of the donation, for company tax-purposes. In this particular project the donation allowed to leverage an additional $33,000 in labor and supplies, bringing the three homes up-to-code. About 200 volunteers from CHASE Bank and several community members provided free interior and exterior painting to the houses, cleaned the yards and work in landscaping, giving the volunteers to take ownership of their sponsorship, experienced team building and felt better about themselves for helping other in need within the communities they serve and do businesses.

Additionally, your sponsorship helps the staff to promote your commitment to the community through our web site, e-newsletter, social network sites and our media partners. This also opens an opportunity to reach out our database members becoming potentially your customers. Please take a look to the media coverage in this project in Sulphur Springs.

Cost Sharing Grant Requirements
Many grants that RTTB applies for require cost sharing (contributions from other sources). Therefore by securing support from contributors like you, we will position ourselves better to compete for large grants from foundations and government to expand and continue our work to create sustainable communities and revitalize neighborhoods in the Tampa bay area.

Economic Value of Your Contribution
At the close of each project, RTTB calculates the economic value of the entire project, including the value of materials, supplies, skilled labor and unskilled labor to determine the overall economic value of the project.   This approach allows us to deliver a project with an economic value over and above what you gave.

Allocating your Contribution to Specific Project or Home?
RTTB recognizes that sponsors oftentimes want to have a direct connect with the household they are helping and they want to make sure their funds go only to help that project. RTTB is able to honor this request. Please make RTTB aware of your desire to have your donation applied to a specific project or home.

How Is My Contribution Allocated?

In addition to funding construction materials, supplies, and required skilled labor to bring about needed home repairs, RTTB must also account for and pay administrative costs and costs associated with its homeowner education component. Dollars leveraged through in-kind services and supplies allows RTTB to cover administrative cost. Like any other organization, we also have administrative costs that are required for the normal administration and operation of our programs and projects. Administrative costs include expenses such as overhead, office space rent, office supplies, postage, telephone, utilities, educational materials for homeowners, maintenance of construction supply warehouse. A portion of your contribution goes to fund these costs. RTTB’s staff spends substantial amount of time and energy in community outreach to identify homeowners in need of our services, to reach out sponsors and contributors and develop working partnership with other non-profits and government agencies to ensure continuum of care to our homeowners. Staff is also responsible for overseeing projects, address your needs and goals, organize volunteers and report effectively and on time to our sponsors. Furthermore, RTTB’s staff works side by side with you to make sure that you feel comfortable with the project, that your funds are well spent and that your volunteer team (if provided by you) have the rewarding experience promised by us. Additionally, some of the funds are also invested in follow-up and homeowner education. We believe this is the key to long-term sustained health and safety of the households we help.
