Mrs. Annie Seay is a 72-year-old retired widow who has lived in her home for over 40 years. She was married to her husband for 53 years. Mr. Seay passed away in 2009 from Parkinson’s disease. During their marriage, she bore five children, three of whom are now deceased. Two of the sons served their country in uniform. One son, who is now deceased, served in the U.S. Army, and another son served in the Marine Corps. Mr. Seay worked as an insurance agent for Westin & Southern Insurance Company until he had to retire due to his illness in 1998. Throughout her husband’s illness, Mrs. Seay worked at a boat seat manufacturing company, Garlic Manufacturing Company of Largo, in order to make ends meet, while at the same time acting as her husband’s caregiver. During this time, Mrs. Seay worked her way up from a seamstress to supervisor to working with the owner in the office. After her husband’s death, Mrs. Seay retired but still continued to be active in her community. She has acted as a School Crossing Guard since 2004. Mrs. Seay is a most kind, courteous, industrious and humble lady. She and her husband were fine examples to the community of what a family should be. She does not ask for handouts, but is now trying to maintain her home on an annual income of only $18,000. She is most appreciative of any assistance that can be provided.
Mrs. Seay's house is one of the homes that will be addressed during this year's National Rebuild Day 2012 that's being held on Saturday, April 28th in St. Petersburg and Gulfport.

Local RTTB Headquarters
Local RTTB HeadquartersThis is a project that will allow us at RTTB to be more productive, efficient and make a bigger difference in our community. We have been given a building that has become our warehouse and after some build out will also become our permanent headquarters. The building still requires much work and retrofitting before we can get into it. This is where volunteers, sponsors and donations come into play. With your help, we can make this dream come true…remember, it's not just for us but also for all the local communities we work in and with. |
